About Jeff Ricketts

Jeff Ricketts was named the Virginia President of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in 2017. He is responsible for the management of Anthem’s employer and individual market health insurance business in Virginia. His responsibilities include sales, underwriting, customer service, provider contracting, government relations and care management. Jeff leads Anthem’s social responsibility activities, continuing the company’s commitment to the communities it serves across the Commonwealth where Anthem serves nearly 3 million Virginians.

He joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia (which merged with Anthem, Inc. in 2002) in 1984. Prior to his current role he served as Regional Vice President of Sales for Virginia.

Jeff is involved in many professional, community and charitable activities, including the March of Dimes where he serves as past chair of the Virginia state board and was chair for the 2015 March for Babies. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Virginia Association of Health Plans. He also serves on the Board of Directors for ChamberRVA, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, Venture Richmond, Virginia Business Council, and the Management Roundtable.

Jeff is a native of Richmond and graduate of James Madison University.
