October Dinner Speaker: Matt C. Pinsker, Attorney at Law, PLLC

Presentation Title: Crisis on the Border: Experience of a Federal Special Prosecutor

 Presentation Description:

Matt C. Pinsker will share his experience as a federal prosecutor on the  Mexican/American border. He will be going into the details of the human smuggling and illegal immigration operations at the border, providing a behind-the-scenes look at how persons illegally enter the country, the conditions at the border, and what the government is doing to stop it. He provides not publicly known information about payments, logistics, and more in a non-political and non-partisan talk. Matt Pinsker discusses the danger posed to Americans and illegal aliens alike by the Mexican drug cartels who make over $20 billion per year smuggling people into the US.


Biography: Matt C. Pinsker is an award-winning criminal defense attorney and founder of the local criminal defense law firm, Matt C. Pinsker, Attorney at Law, PLLC. He is also an Adjunct Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University where for 7 years he has taught criminal justice and homeland security and published multiple articles and a textbook. He is also a Captain in the US Army Reserves, Judge Advocates General Corps. His military experience includes work as an Army prosecutor, 3 years with the elite Trial Defense Services (TDS), and service overseas. A noted expert in national security, Matt C. Pinsker is regularly featured in the national media for commentary on current issues. He has been quoted in a range of television and print publications including: Fox News, Forbes, Huffington Post, Buzzfeed, Washington Post, US News and World Report, Reader’s Digest, Yahoo News, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, and Playboy.      

In 2018, Matt C. Pinsker was mobilized by the Army and deployed to the US/Mexico border. Upon arrival, he was detailed to the US Department of Justice as a federal special prosecutor and tasked with handling cases involving illegal immigration and border security. With the title of Special Assistant US Attorney (SAUSA), he prosecuted over 5,000 individuals for illegal entry and many others for human trafficking, drug smuggling, and gun-running. On the border, he was not just a witness but worked directly on the most contentious issues in American politics including illegal immigration, family separation, asylum seekers, and cartel activity. He has written a book about his experience, now available for pre-order on Amazon and titled: “Crisis on the Border: An Eyewitness Account of Illegal Aliens, Violent Crime, and Cartels.”

After graduating from Godwin High School in Henrico County, he went to college at William & Mary (2009) and law school at West Virginia University College of Law (2012). After passing the bar exam, he trained as a constitutional law scholar at The George Washington University Law School and earned an LLM in National Security & US Foreign Relations Law. He and his wife Naomi Pinsker, a physical therapist at Pivot, reside in the far west end of Henrico County.
